Harold Lloyd "Red" Tinkler

Funeral services for Harold Lloyd “Red” Tinkler will be held Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 2:30 PM at the First Baptist Church of Wetumka, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at the Wetumka Cemetery. Harold Lloyd Tinkler was born May 1, 1927 in Seminole, Oklahoma to James Oscar Tinkler and Pearl Bell (Lair) Tinkler. He passed away Friday, May 11, 2018 at his home in Okemah at the age of 91. Harold Lloyd “Red” Tinkler was a longtime resident of the Okemah and Wetumka area and graduate of Bearden High School. After high school he began working as a laborer on a pipeline. Red worked for Trojan Trucking, Wagoner Trucking and also R.H. Fulton in Lubbock, Texas for over 20 years. He worked as a general superintendent for Arctic Construction in Alaska from 1974 – 1976 and supervised 3,000 men. Red then started Okemah Construction Company in February of 1977 and sold the business in 1997 to Stratum Investment Group of New York. “Red” enjoyed ranching, bird hunting and fishing. He also loved playing dominoes and watching sports and especially loved the New York Yankees. Red was a great story teller that never forgot a person’s name. He also served his country with the United States Navy during WWII. He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife of 44 years, Jane Tinkler; a daughter, Susan Leigh Tinkler and two brothers, Charles K. “Buster” Tinkler and W.C. “Tip” Tinkler. Survivors include Louise Tinkler, wife of 22 years of the home in Okemah; two daughters, Vicki Meadors of New Castle and Debby Sutton and husband Tony of Edmond, Oklahoma; two step-sons, Jeff Rasberry of Okmulgee and John Patrick Rasberry of McLoud, Oklahoma; step-daughter, Jennifer Chesser and husband William of Seminole, Oklahoma; sister in law, Mary Tinkler of Sulphur Springs, Texas; three grandchildren, Angie Meadors VonAhn of Blanchard, Oklahoma, Clint Meadors of Okemah and Becky Lee of Luther, Oklahoma; five step-grandchildren, Ashley, Meagan and Johnny Rasberry and Logan and Austin Chesser; three great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. Serving as active pallbearers will be David Walker, Johnny Johnson, Josh Lee, Cliff Tinkler, Todd Standley and Todd Cheatwood. Honorary bearers include Ken Kasiner, Dale Cheatwood, Virgil Anderson, Bill Chesser, Carl McDaniel, Pat Martin and Nokey Klutts. Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah, Oklahoma and officiated by Pastor Claude Butler.
